About A Bug and a Flea

I'm the artist behind A Bug and a Flea. For years I worked in the entertainment industry creating animations and illustrations, helping bring characters to life. Today I'm using that same love of drawing to create original characters, apparel, stickers, and gifts.

Every design in this store starts with a pencil sketch.

I've always enjoyed wrestling, fencing, and martial arts. Watching two people trying to solve the same problem; each adapting, countering, and thinking several moves ahead. It's endlessly fascinating to me. It's a physical chess match.

What inspired this store, though, wasn't just the sports. It was the people.

The coaches who pour countless hours into their athletes. The parents who spend weekends in gymnasiums cheering from the stands. The young wrestlers who put in the work; showing up, learning, and growing. Their passion for wrestling is contagious, and spending time around that community made me want to celebrate it through my artwork.

That's why wrestling became the first chapter of A Bug and a Flea.

My goal is simple: create original artwork that captures the joy, determination, humor, and heart of the communities that inspire me. Whether it's a little grappler stepping onto the mat for the first time, a coach's favorite saying, or a whimsical animal in a wrestling singlet, every design is created from scratch with the hope that it makes someone smile.
